Actually it’s not as simple as it sounds to move two companies from building three to building one in Minster Court. A conventional ‘across town’ move means packing, loading the vehicles in the loading bay, driving to the new building loading bay, unloading and unpacking. The small distance meant that vehicles weren’t a suitable option but everything then needed to be taken on a circuitous route down, across and up to get to the new destination.
Function negotiated for special dispensation from the two different building management companies (with different rules and regulations) for everything to be moved across the stone concourse. Function made every effort, using plenty of protective materials, to ensure that the floor was undamaged. Function’s Minster Court experience will have helped to reassure the respective managers that every care would be taken.
It’s not often that a small distance project takes more effort than a large one but Function rose to the challenge and took the headache away from the clients – the International Underwriting Association and Acord (the Association of Cooperative Research and Development).
