When it comes to moving house there are a lot of things to consider regarding the local area. For example, what are the schools like? How far is the train station? Do they deliver your favourite pizza to that area – you know, the important stuff. Well, when it comes to selecting the new location for your office these thoughts are just as important especially when it comes to your business fitting in with the ‘locals’.
We have looked at a few desirable postcodes to consider depending on your business genre.
Clerkenwell (EC1A) – Clerkenwell = Furniture! The area was known as “Little Italy” in the 1850s due to the residency of around 2000 Italians but Clerkenwell changed dramatically during the industrial revolution. The area became known for trade including watches, printing and BEER! It’s now one of the most popular locations in London for interior design, furniture and fabric. The area even has its own ‘design week’ showcasing leading brands and companies in the industry.
Holborn (WC2) – AKA Mid Town. Once upon a time this area was shabby, unpopular and undesirable. However, over the years development plans in travel, infrastructure and business have made it one of the most desirable locations for law firms in particular. We counted over 19 large firms within walking distance of each other. If you don’t think that’s a sign of a good business location, I OBJECT!
Fenchurch Street (EC3) – This area includes several bars, restaurants and insurance companies. Known as part of London’s “financial district” it’s home to a large number of corporate offices, including the famous ‘Walkie Talkie’ building (20 Fenchurch Street).
